Course Outcome: By the end of the course, participants will be able to: - Explain how most funding bodies make grants - Identify those funders that are most likely to be sympathetic to your cause - View their organisation from the funders perspective - Present their organisation / project to funders in a way that best meets their principal criteria - Assess the likelihood of an application succeeding - Understand why some applications succeed and some fail - Recognise how writing the application is only one part of a process |
| Target Audience: This one day course is aimed at managers or administrators who are seeking to raise funds for their projects. Participants should have some experience of writing funding applications, even if these have not been successful. |
| Approach: The course will be informal and will require the active involvement of participants. Practical examples of successful and unsuccessful funding applications will be used to draw out learning points and participants will have plenty of opportunity to share their experiences and concerns. |
