Course Outcome: By the end of the course, participants will be able to: - Explore why site specific performance is relevant to their work. - Know who and how to negotiate with: council, owners of the site, etc. - Understand the particular requirements of working in a non-theatre venue. Including on-site management, technical specifications, providing for performers, funding, marketing, audiences and hidden costs. - Get advice on their specific project. |
| Target Audience: This one day course is aimed at performers, directors, writers, producers, administrators and anyone who is doing, or wants to do, site specific work. |
Approach: The morning session will be devoted to going through the stages of planning a site specific show and exploring several examples of site specific work and how they were managed. The afternoon will be looking at a specific project, asking participants to plan and trouble shoot. Then we will discuss the participants’ specific projects. |
