Course Outcome: By the end of the course, participants will be able to: Layout minutes Use the correct language and grammar for minute-taking Identify the differences between formal minutes and informal notes and know when each should be used Clarify the role of the minute-taker and the role of the Chair and how the two can work together Prepare effectively for minute-taking Develop criteria for what to leave in or take out of minutes |
| Target Audience: This course is for anyone who takes minutes in their work. It is intended for those who have little or no experience, or for more experienced workers who want to hone their skills. |
| Approach: Many of us are railroaded into taking minutes without any training or experience, which can be nerve-wracking and stressful. This highly participative course unpacks the skills needed to take and write up effective minutes. It combines trainer input with small group practical sessions with opportunities to practise editing and minute-taking throughout the day. |
