Campaign for the Arts is calling for the Scottish Government to deliver on their arts funding pledge, after news of Creative Scotland taking the difficult decision to close the Open Fund for Individuals to new applications due to the Scottish Government being unable to confirm the release of £6.6m in Grant-in-Aid budget in the current financial year, 2024-25.
The closure of this fund threatens the employment of 5,000 workers, and 25,500 individual artists who provide millions of opportunities for people across Scotland to engage with the arts and culture, including many ITC Members: Arika, Cumbernauld Theatre Trust, Vanishing Point and Visible Fictions.
