ITC AGM & Conference 2020
The 'E' Word
'Embracing the Challenge of Employment'
In the performing arts, as soon as you start engaging people you become an employer. We are inviting you to a day exploring the experience of employment and the responsibilities of leadership.
- Innovation in employing people well.
- Protecting & empowering the workforce post Brexit.
- Freelancers & employees
- The challenges of new leadership.
- Nurturing teams, well-being & dignity at work.
- Managing difficult conversations, mediation & dispute resolutions.
- The role of a management association & the benefits of working with unions.
This conference is an opportunity for peer-learning with ITC members from across the UK, as well as specialised panel talks, seminars and networking opportunities. We are delighted to partner with Mountview who will host this event.
We ask members for a contribution of £50+VAT towards the cost of their place. We hope that this subsidised rate will allow as many of our members as possible to take part in the day, however if you are experiencing financial barriers and would still like to attend please contact Zoe to discuss further.
Future Leader Ticket
We want this conference to be useful and interesting for people at all stages of their management career. If you work with a future leader we encourage you to invite them. They should be someone who wouldn’t usually have the opportunity to attend an event like this and who would benefit from the career development. This could be: someone in your organisation; a mentee; an associate artist, freelancer, producer or collaborator. You can purchase the discounted ticket for them or they can take up the offer themselves via you. We ask you to attend with them, introduce them to someone new and help them make the most of the day. If you would like to join the ITC board now's your chance to stand for election. Our Board, which is elected from and by our membership forms an essential sounding board for the organisation, engages in representation of the sector and helps us to continually improve our service to members.
A full list of current board members is included on the nomination form. We try to ensure that the board is as representative of our diverse membership as possible.
The Board meets four times a year and each board member is elected for a period of three years, after which they are able to stand for a second term.
If you are a full member of ITC and have an interesting set of skills and experiences to offer as well as an engagement in the independent theatre sector we would love to hear from you.
You will need to be nominated by two other ITC members and give a one minute election speech at the AGM. If you would like to stand for election please fill out the nomination form (which can be downloaded on the right) and return it to us by Thursday 20th February 2020.
If you want to discuss joining the board contact the ITC office (0207 403 1727 or firstname.lastname@example.org) and we will arrange a conversation for you with our CEO Charlotte Jones or a current Board member.
Access and Inclusion
Mountview is a fully wheelchair accessible venue. The Conference will be a relaxed event and main panels of the conference will be captioned by StageText. If you require a BSL interpreter or have any other access or inclusion needs please let Zoe know as soon as possible.
We are offering new members an ITC Board ‘buddy’ for the event. If you would like to have someone from our Board to introduce you to people and offer a little guidance, let Zoe know and we will pair you up!
