Nutshell

Nutshell is a multi-award winning company based in Edinburgh. We are an informal ensemble of artists who come together every few years to create a new piece of work. We make work for theatre spaces and non-theatre spaces. Over the last twenty years, we have made eight critically acclaimed shows and supported the artistic work of women playwrights, composers,designers, directors, production managers and strive to create interesting roles for older actresses.
Nutshell has a strong record in work that has its well-spring in participatory arts practice. Over the last decade, we have had over two thousand participants in our community engagement projects.
We have been proud members of ITC for a decade and our Artistic Director Kate Nelson served on the ITC board from 2015 to 2021.
