Community Theatre in Rhondda Cynon Taff.

How we work with our community. Spectacle Theatre established to promote education using theatre. Based in the Rhondda Valley , it works in Welsh and English , with and alongside communities. We use simple participatory techniques such as sharing stories to reach out. We then support people to explore their concerns . The outcomes are they better understand themselves and others. They discover their own strengths and come up with their own answers. People want to share stories ; they just need to be asked. Stories enable us to empathise with others.

This participatory arts approach validates peoples lived experience. We value inclusivity. We co-create bespoke projects, meeting individual and group need. Projects provide lasting benefits in resilience , social interaction and learning. We focus on what people can do – not what they cannot . We support our community to lead in the design and development of projects . We set up safe accessible community spaces for activity to happen. We measure impact and identify gaps in provision.
