The Performance Ensemble

The Performance Ensemble is an ensemble theatre company of older performers.  Making art with the experience of age.  We work with people from many cultural backgrounds; creating contemporary theatre for audiences of all ages.

We believe that older people have valuable contributions to make to society, but that as we age, we become invisible to others, and that must change.

Our plan is that by March 2023 we will have collected 1001 stories from older people from across Leeds. Inspired by Scheherazade who told the stories of  The Arabian Nights, our stories are the stories of real people from Leeds told by themselves creating magical, authentic performance work as part of LEEDS 2023 Year of Culture
