Description

What is this course about?

This course explores how to approach and draft successful funding applications for performing art projects. It will cover why to fundraise, what makes your project unique, different types of funders, fundamental steps of solicitation, dealing with rejection, whom to involve in the process, and how? In light of Covid19, with many funders/funds impacted, this Spring 2022 course observes these changes alongside examining the challenges and opportunities this brings.

Who is this course for?

This course is for anyone who fundraises in an organisation or for their own projects. No previous experience is necessary, though it is helpful to have a current or forthcoming project in mind. You can apply the learning from the session to various situations and sizes of organisations, from small project-to-project companies to larger venues.

Approach

Ran online, this course offers a mix of the trainer’s presentation and group discussion. We encourage attendees to actively participate, as there is much to be learned from each other, and will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and share their own experiences.
