This course is a half-day, online course

This course covers:

  • An overview of key intellectual property legal issues
  • A focus on Copyright.
  • Creating effective contracts to manage intellectual property well
  • Identifying where IP rights exist and how to get permission to use them
  • Reaching fair financial agreements
  • Managing rights in a devising process

 

Suitable For: 
This short course is an introduction that will be useful both for those who are new to Intellectual Property or those feeling in need of a refresher.

 

Approach

This session will be online introducing the basics of IP Law and providing the opportunity to discuss the practical application of these principles and participants’ particular issues – drawing on the many IP issues that ITC members have raised over the years.

 

Trainer:

Charlotte Jones is the Chief Executive of ITC. She trained as a lawyer and has many years of experience negotiating contracts and representing ITC and its members to funders, supporters, politicians, the press and media, development agencies, and the wider creative and cultural sector. Charlotte advises and trains managers and companies on all areas of people management including recruitment, appraisals, disputes and ending contracts.
