Safeguarding for the Performing Arts
Wednesday 19 June 10.00am - 5.00pm
This course aims to help you identify and understand safeguarding concerns, issues and responsibilities when working with children, young people and vulnerable adults.
By the end of the course you will have explored and have an understanding of:
- The safeguarding issues that you may encounter in workshop, performance and workplace settings
- The necessity for the prompt and effective reporting of incidents and concerns
- Relevant legislation
- DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) requirements
- How to create and implement a Safeguarding Policy and Procedure for your organisation

Approach
This course is an informal seminar with plenty of opportunity for questions, discussion and learning from fellow-participants’ experiences.
Target Audience
The course is aimed primarily at those that work with and provide performing arts activities and performances for and with children, young people and vulnerable adults.
